Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Please do not send your child to school before 7:00 a.m. as there is no one on duty to supervise the students. Breakfast starts at 7:15 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. Teachers pick up their students at 7:45 a.m. to begin the instructional day at 7:50 a.m.  If your child arrives at school after 7:50 a.m., he/she will be considered tardy. Please have your child at school on time every day.

When driving your child to (and from) school, you must use the car rider ramp located by the teacher’s parking lot. A set of cones will be placed in the middle of the ramp so we can accommodate two lanes of traffic. Having two lanes of traffic has helped alleviate the congestion problem. Our car ramp closes at 7:50 a.m. After that time, please park your car and accompany your child into the building; they should not be entering the school late by themselves.

The scheduled dismissal time is 3:15 p.m.
Please make sure that your child’s teacher knows, in writing, how your child is to go home each day. The teacher must be made aware of any changes in writing.  If your child's method of transportation will be changed, please send a note to your child's teacher. If you forget to send a note, please call the office by 2:00 p.m.

Without a written note or oral communication to the front office, changes will not be made to the child's method of transportation.

When checking students out for early dismissal you must report to the office with proper identification to pick up your child. No child will be dismissed to you from the classroom. In order for us to provide a safe and secure environment for our students, you must be in the office by 2:45 p.m. to pick up your child for early dismissal. After 2:50 p.m. no child will be dismissed unless it is an emergency approved by one of the administrators. A doctor’s appointment is not an emergency. Your child’s grades may be affected if he/she habitually misses the last part of the day, therefore, please do not pick up your child early in order to avoid our dismissal procedures.

If your child DOES have a doctor’s appointment during the day, he/she will NOT be counted as absent as long as you bring a note from the doctor when you bring your child to school that same day.

Building Security

When visiting the campus, you must use the front entrance. All visitors must report to the front office, go through a metal detector, have all bags inspected, and present proper identification (driver’s license or photo ID), every time they visit the building. This procedure and the use of our cameras increase the security and safety of our building.
